Evaluation of the Ability of Di-tri-octahedral Smectite to Adhere to Clostridium difficile Toxins and Clostridium perfringens Enterotoxin In Vitro
نویسنده
چکیده
Di-tri-octahedral smectite was effective in neutralizing Clostridium difficile toxins A and B as well as Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin in vitro. However, di-tri-octahedral smectite did not inhibit the growth of Clostridium difficile and Clostridium perfringens, nor did it interfere with the activity of metronidazole. Di-tri-octahedral smectite may be a useful option for the treatment of clostridial colitis in horses. The effect of clostridium difficile Toxins Aand B on ligated rabbit IIeal loop and cultured cell link BK
clostridium difficile has been recognized as the major cause of pseudomembranous colitis.this bacterium produces two toxins(an enterotoxin -cytotoxin and a potent cytotoxin called toxin A and toxin B erespectively).these toxins have implicated in pathogenesis of the disease.however, histopathological effects of their molecular mass less than 100KDa have been essayed.in the persent study,we exami...
متن کاملIdentification of enterototxin harboring gene among Clostridium perfringens isolates with different toxin types in Iran
Background: Clostridium perfringens is known as the most widely distributed pathogenic microorganism in nature. It is an extremely important pathogen of human and domestic animals. In a commonly used classification scheme, C. perfringens is divided into five toxinotypes (A to E) based on the production of four major toxins (alpha, beta, epsilon, and iota). Enterotoxin is not usually used for C....
متن کاملDetection and Frequency of Enterotoxin (cpa, cpe) Genes of Clostridium perfringens Isolated from Dehydrated Vegetables by PCR
Background and Objective: Clostridium perfringens is an anaerobic bacterium, commonly present in retail foods. Its enterotoxin-producing ability, short generation time, ability to grow at elevated temperatures, and spore-forming ability, allows it to survive in food-processing temperatures, and cause foodborne illness. The aim of study was to screen dehydrated vegetables contaminated with cpe a...
متن کاملEFFECT OF AMYGDALUS COMMUNIS ON GROWTH AND TOXIN PRODUCTION OF CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE
It is known that the major etiologic agent of pseudomembranous colitis in man is Clostridium difficile. With respect to traditional use of almond paste in the treatment of infantile diarrhea, we studied the effects of the aqueous extract of Amygdalus communis (AEAC) on the growth and toxin production of Clostridium difficile in culture medium and the rabbit ligated ileal loop. Three groups...
متن کاملOccurrence of Beta2 toxigenic Clostridium perfringens isolates with different toxin types in Iran
Clostridium perfringens is an important cause of enteric diseases in both human and animals. The bacteria produce several toxins which play key roles in the pathogenesis of diseases and are classified into five toxin types, on the basis of the differential production of Alpha, Beta, Epsilon and Iota toxins. In this study a single PCR assay was developed and used for detection of cpb2 gene to id...
